Mischa Barton

Barton is an American-born British actress who is employed in the cinema, television, and theater. Barton has made her New York City debut at the Lincoln Center with Tony Kushner's Slavs! and played the lead role in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. Her first acting experience was her appearance as a cameo in the show All My Children. In the Nickelodeon animated series KaBlam!, she also was the voice of one of the characters. From 1996 to 1997, she was the voice of a character in the Nickelodeon animated show KaBlam! In 1996, she was the main character in the drama Lawn Dogs (1997) alongside Sam Rockwell, marking her debut acting experience. The films she has starred in are M. Night Shyamalan's psycho crime thriller The Sixth Sense (1998) as well as the romance comedy Notting Hill (1998). Additionally, in 1999 she played a role in the thriller by independent filmmakers Pups. After that, Barton acted as Evan Rachel Wood's friend in ABC's Once and Again (2001) and in the indie drama Lost and Delirious (2001). She played Marissa Cooper in the 2003-2006 season of the Fox television series The O.C., for which she won two Teen Choice Awards. Barton has gained a lot of attention due to this role, as well as Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Since 2003, Barton has acted in the drama Closing the Ring, directed by Richard Attenborough, as well as in the comedy St Trinian's and the Assassination of a High School President She made a return to TV in 2009, appearing in the CW series The Beautiful Life, which Ashton Kutcher produced.
